Evergreen Stud operates two distinct sections
Breaking & Pretraining
Evergreen Stud boasts a very modern Pretraining & Spelling facilities for racehorses. Facilities include 3 large barn stable complex with 80 large stables in total, a nine horse walker, high performance treadmill and a 1300m synthetic training track with barriers. You can be assured your horse is well taken care of with a horse to staff ratio of 5 horses per staff member.
Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott racing highly recommended Gordon Pratt to take over the Breaking/Pretraining management position at Evergreen Stud in February 2018 due to his expertise, experience and attention to detail. Since Gordon’s arrival we have already had a number of stakes performers as 2year olds from this year’s crop of Breakers & Pre-trainers.
Evergreen is proud to have had horses for various trainers and syndicators such as Gai Waterhouse & Adrian Bott, Blueblood Thoroughbreds, Darren Weir, Mick Price, Gerald Ryan, Lee Curtis, Hayes/Dabernig Racing & Jason Coyle.
The farm spreads over 500 acres, the area thrives on good rainfall which provides us with lush pastures all year round. We offer seasonal or permanent agistment as well as sales preparation.
The Stud’s facilities allow us to care for your thoroughbred from their birth through to Racing or Sales.We offer a high level of care and work with owners to ensure every horse lives up to its potential.
In July 2018 Evergreen Stud welcomed Kerry Wisnewski to the team & his expertise as he heads the Breeding and Agistment Facilities.
Evergreen Stud foals down over 40 mares every year, we employ high quality night watch staff so you can be assured your Mare& foal are in great hands. Our in house Transport permits easy access to hunter valley stallions throughout the breeding season and beyond.
Weanlings are handled regularly and floated at a young age to encourage a well-adjusted yearling. Yearling Preparation starts in November and goes through to June as we prepare and attend all major sales.
